Wheels & Waves France

The story about how it started:

My first flat track race was in 2016 at El Rollo Wheels & Waves at Hipodromo de San Sebastian, Spain. I had no idea how to do it. I was on my Rickman Metisse with Montesa 250 engine, 18 inch rear and 21 inch front with hand cut road tires (apparently it is supposed to be 19 front and 19 rear).
In that race there was a mega fast rider with glamorous style lapping me at least once per heat race. Turns out it was Dimitri Coste (@motelcoste), famous French rider.

This year, 2023, we finally had the chance to ride together again at Wheels & Waves. The picture of us battling says more than words could. It was a good race with thrill battles. Fun fact: we both lost the rear brake after practice and with a powerful and have bike like our Triumph 750s that can get a bit sketchy, yet very rock and roll.

Vintage racing calls for vintage footage. My good friend Louis Borra (@lostgipsea) has been documenting our races on super8 film for the last 2 years. Can’t wait to see the full film. Prepare yourselves, he’s creating great things.

Next to my love for vintage, I’m also excited about the future of racing. I drove my Trevor (@trevor.motorcycles) electric motorcycle designed by my friend and artist Philippe Stella (@philippestella). Paint and helmet by Hedon (@hedonworkshop).

Wheels & Waves always brings together an incredible good group of people and riders. What a crazy week of racing. My heart is full, my muscles are empty.

Driving home with a smile on my face, already looking forward to the next edition.
